Gitwit HQ2
Gitwit, a collaborative office of design creatives, expanded their existing headquarters into the adjacent building—calling it HQ2. Previously a downtown bodega then vacant for several years, the building was a dark collection of isolated spaces. Three must-haves of the project were 1) as much natural light as possible, 2) all offices have a door, and 3) an atmosphere of vitality. 1Architecture achieved this by doubling the amount of exterior glazing; providing 28 enclosed offices for deep heads-down work; and incorporating plantings, natural materials, and expressive street art throughout the project. Other features include a large glass central conference room and auditorium seating for 50+ people with state-of-the-art AV. 1Architecture transformed the once closed, dark interior into a bright and vibrant space for focused work and collaboration.
